My account value is not equal to my broker
We strive for the most accurate possible comparison between PDT and your broker. Yet it is difficult to arrive at exactly the same account value. This is due to the following factors:
- For example, for DEGIRO we cannot import the AutoFX cost, which causes small price differences. These can be added manually via Create an action.
- In PDT share price will be updated until after the stock market has closed. Your brokers works with realtime data, which means that the share price can differ. You can see per share when the share price has been updated. How often are effect prices updated?
- We might not have been able to import a specific share yet. Via the Action page, we show which shares we were unable to upload. We are continuously expanding our dataset. Is yours not listed yet? Let us know at A stock is not available.
- Stock split(s) and/or other corporate actions have been implemented that have not yet been properly processed in PDT. This is often an explanation for when a specific stock deviates strongly from your broker. In this case, please contact us. Give feedback in the Portfolio Dividend Tracker.
- An incorrect exchange has been selected for a security. The prices of a security can differ within a selected exchange. It is therefore always good to check whether you have selected the correct exchange during the import. If necessary, these actions can still be edited to the correct exchange later. Edit or delete an action.
- If you trade within different cash currencies; we will convert the different currencies to one euro cash position. We use the end-of-day exchange rate for this, which may cause differences in your cash position and therefore account value. If necessary, this can be adjusted via My cash position does not match my broker(s).
Does your PDT account deviate too much from your broker and are the previously stated explanations not the reason?
Of course, we cannot look into your broker account, so it is sometimes very difficult for us to be able to see exactly what is going wrong based purely on your PDT portfolio. You could help us by checking your effects in combination with your broker. If there are differences between the end-of-day prices, the average purchase value or the number of owned shares, we can look more specifically into a possible solution.
Please contact us and we'll be happy to help you.
