My account value is not equal to my broker

We strive for the most accurate possible comparison between PDT and your broker. Still, it is difficult to arrive at exactly the same account value. This is due to the following factors:

  • Some brokers charge automatic currency conversion fees (such as DEGIRO's AutoFX) that we cannot import, which causes small price differences. You can add these manually via Create an action.
  • A share price may only be updated after the stock market has closed. Many brokers work with delayed or realtime data, which means the share price can differ. You can see per share when the price was last updated. How often are effect prices updated?
  • We might not have been able to import a specific share yet. Via the Action page we show which shares we could not load. We are continuously expanding our dataset. Is yours not listed yet? Let us know at A stock is not available.
  • Stock split(s) and/or other corporate actions have been processed that are not yet correctly reflected in PDT. This is often the explanation when a specific stock deviates strongly from your broker. In that case, please contact us. Give feedback within PDT
  • An incorrect exchange has been selected for a security. Prices can differ per exchange, so always check whether you selected the correct exchange during the import. You can edit actions to the correct exchange later. Edit or delete an action
  • Do you trade in different currencies? We convert them to one euro cash position using the end-of-day exchange rate, which may cause differences in your cash position and therefore your account value. If needed, adjust this via My cash position does not match my broker(s).

Does your PDT account deviate too much from your broker and none of the reasons above explain it?

We can't look inside your broker account, so it's sometimes hard to see what's going wrong based purely on your PDT portfolio. You can help us by comparing your shares side by side with your broker. If there are differences in the end-of-day prices, the average purchase price (APP) or the number of shares held, we can look more specifically for a solution.
