Set your language and region

Under Language & region in your account, you decide which language you use PDT in and how we show numbers, dates and times. The page has four sections.

Language

Here you choose whether you use PDT in English or Dutch. Your language and your notation are separate. For example, you can use PDT in English with Dutch number and date notation.

Regional functions and standard notation

Here you choose your country. We use it to set your default notation: how you see dates, times and numbers, and on which day your week starts. If you choose the United States, for example, you see 08/26/2026, 1:30 p.m. and $1,234.56.

Currency symbols follow your region too. The currency of your own country gets its short symbol, such as $ or €. Where symbols of different currencies look the same, we make the difference clear with, for example, US$ or GB£.

The currency you view your portfolio in is a separate setting. You can read how this works in Change your base currency.

Format

Does the default notation of your region not quite suit you? Then adjust the individual parts here. Each part starts with Default, showing in brackets what your region uses. If you choose it, that part always follows your region.

  • Date: for example 26-08-2026, 26/08/2026, 08/26/2026, 26.08.2026 or 2026-08-26.
  • Time: a 24-hour clock (13:30) or a 12-hour clock (1:30 p.m.).
  • Numbers: for example 1,234,567.89, 1.234.567,89 or 1 234 567,89.
  • Start of the week: the day your week starts on. You see this in, for example, the calendar and in weekly periods.

Timezone

The timezone determines on which date and time we show your actions and notifications. By default, we use the timezone of your region. You can also search for and choose a timezone yourself.

Are you in a different timezone than your account, for example while on holiday? Then we'll ask whether you want to switch to your current timezone.
