Calendar
With the calendar in PDT, you have an overview of important events related to the securities in your investment portfolio. This way, you'll never miss key events such as dividend payments or shareholder meetings. Below, we explain how the calendar works and what you can do with it.
Calendar Overview
In the calendar overview, you’ll see various types of events, such as:
- Ex-dividend: The date when the stock goes ex-dividend. If you purchase securities on or after the ex-dividend date, you will not be entitled to the upcoming dividend payment. Only shareholders who bought the securities before this date will receive the dividend.
- Dividend: The payment date when the dividend is distributed. Along with the payment date, we also display the dividend amount per security.
- Annual General Meeting (AGM): The date of the annual shareholders' meeting.
- Earnings: The publication dates of financial reports, such as quarterly and annual earnings.
- Trading Update: An interim report from a company sharing its most recent business results, such as revenue and profit. This provides investors with an up-to-date view of the company’s performance.
- Capital Markets Day: A day on which the company gives a presentation to investors about strategic plans, outlooks, and financial goals. This provides investors with more insight into the company’s future plans.
We add future calendar events when they are announced by the security. For example, we show a new dividend or earnings date when they are shared.
In addition, we display the key economic events from the United States and Europe.
- (EU / US) Inflation: The publication date of consumer price increases (inflation) in the Eurozone or the United States.
- (EU / US) Interest Rate: The date when the European Central Bank (ECB) or the U.S. Federal Reserve (the Fed) announces their new interest rate decision.
- US Employment: On this publication date, the number of people employed in the United States (excluding the agricultural sector) is reported.
Asset prices can be heavily influenced by economic events. For instance, the ECB and the Fed examine inflation figures to decide whether to raise or lower interest rates. When interest rates rise, borrowing becomes more expensive for businesses and consumers, which can lead to reduced spending and potentially slow down the economy. When interest rates fall, borrowing becomes cheaper, which can stimulate economic activity. Additionally, employment figures indicate how many jobs have been added. A large increase in jobs may suggest that the economy is growing.
View Options
The calendar offers two view options:
- Week view: Here, you can see the working days within a selected week.
- Month view: Depending on your screen width, you can view up to three months ahead in this view.
You can easily navigate through the calendar using the arrow buttons or by clicking on the date to open the date picker. This allows you to scroll forward or backward by week or month to view upcoming or past events.
In the calendar, we only display the events of securities that are currently active in your investment portfolio. If you've fully sold a security, its events will also disappear from your calendar.
