Google Sheets Template
Layout
The Google Sheets consists of multiple tabs. These are divided into different types of broker actions.
- Instructions: Here, we note how you should fill out the Google Sheets.
- Transactions: The transactions are imported into this tab. For example, the purchase and sell moments of the effect.
- Dividends: Here, we import the received cash and stock dividends of an effect.
- Bookings: Here, we import any broker deposits or withdrawals.
- Expenses: Here, we import any broker costs.
- Settings: To simplify the import of Google Sheets, we retrieve our data through PDT. With this tab, we make connections with PDT to, for example, retrieve the names of brokers, stock markets or currencies.
It is important that Tabs and Column names are not edited. Every column is set to a certain type of writing in order to correctly read every broker action.
Columns
Every tab has its own columns which we need to import your broker actions. Some columns come back several times. For example:
Broker
Fill in the broker at which you bought your effect. We retrieve the list of brokers from PDT. Is your broker not on the list? Let us know, and we will add it accordingly. Get in contact.
Effect
- Name: Fill in the name of your effect. This field is optional for your own administration, so that you can easily read which effect the transaction concerns.
- Type: At this moment, PDT supports stock market (shares, ETFs, funds and obligations), crypto and commodities (metals).
- Search:
- Stock market: If the action concerns a stock market type, fill in the ISIN number here. For example, IE00B3XXRP09 for Vanguard S&P 500.
- Crypto: If the action concerns a crypto type, fill in the crypto symbol. For example BTC for Bitcoin. If these would result in a conflict, in case of multiple cryptocurrencies having the same symbol, you can use the full name of the cryptocurrency instead. Our preference is using the symbol as it is less likely to change.
- Commodity: If the action concerns a commodity type, fill in Gold, Silver, Platinum, Palladium based on the type of precious metal.
- Exchange:
- Stock market: If the action concerns a stock market type, select the exchange where you bought your effect. We retrieve this list via PDT. Is your exchange not in this list? Please get in contact with our support, so we can add it to this list as well. When the action is a fund, select the "Funds" exchange.
- Crypto / Commodity: When the transaction is a crypto type or commodity type, you can leave this field empty.
- Date: Fill in the date of your action. The right way to fill this in is day-month-year. For example, 1-01-2025.
- Time: Fill in the time of action. The right way to fill this in is hour:minute. For example, 14:03.
For all the other columns we have placed a description in the Google Sheets to help you on your way.
